Tej Deol, M.D., M.B.A.

Tej, a Canadian national, has been living in Singapore with his wife and two children since 2001 and currently functions as the Managing Partner of Clearstate Pte. Ltd.

In 1990, at 24 years of age, he graduated as a medical doctor (M.D.) from the University of Western Ontario (Canada). He proceeded to complete his Residency in Family Medicine in 1992 and currently remains a Fellow of The Canadian College of Family Practitioners.

Tej practiced medicine in the United States from 1993 until 2001. He was a Diplomat of The American Board of Family Practice from 1996-2003. He served as a member of the Executive Committee of All Saints Medical Group, Texas from 1995-1999 and was appointed Director of Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine.

Tej was also an angel investor in People.com Consultants, an IT development and consulting firm, headquartered in San Jose, California. He was a member of the Board of Directors from 1996 to 1999, involved in strategic issues such as corporate finance, investor relations, and growth strategy. The company grew to over 500 consultants serving numerous multinational firms and was sold in the year 2000 to TMP Worldwide (an S&P 500 company, currently Hudson Highland Group).

Tej holds a Medical Degree from the University of Western Ontario and Honors MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Harpreet Bedi, J.D.

Harpreet Bedi, J.D. is currently pursuing her MML Medical Law degree at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. She completed her Juris Doctorate in 1996 at Northeastern University School of Law, Boston, U.S.A. and also has acheived her Bachelor of Arts, 1993 with Majors in Economics and International Relations graduating with Honours: Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Sweet Briar College, Virginia, U.S.A.

Harpreet functioned as In-house Legal Counsel at the global headquarters (San Jose, CA., U.S.A.) of Cisco Sytems, Inc. between December, 1996-April, 2001; she also resumed this function while in Singapore from January, 2005-September, 2008.

Harpreet has served as legal intern for the following prestigious institutions:

Ray Dunn, Ph.D.

Dr. Ray Dunn obtained his B.S.in Biology with Honors from Wake Forest University, North Carolina, U.S.A. in 1993. Following post-graduate studies in molecular and cellular biology at the Universite© Joseph Fourier I, Grenoble, France, he initiated his doctoral research in embryonic stem (ES) cells and developmental biology at the Vanderbilt University Medical Centre, Tennessee, U.S.A. and was awarded his Ph.D. in 1999. He then completed an NIH-funded post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Harvard University, Cambridge, U.S.A. There, he focused his research on the formation of progenitor cells that ultimately give rise to the organs of the digestive tract such as the liver, lung and pancreas. In 2004, he joined ES Cell International Pte Ltd, Singapore as a Research Scientist in the Diabetes Group, eventually being named Program Manager in 2005. In July 2007, he was appointed as a Principal Investigator in the A*STAR Institute of Medical Biology and Singapore Stem Cell consortium. In the IMB, he continues his research aimed at differentiating human ES cells toward the pancreatic lineage in the hope of producing safe and efficient insulin-producing beta cells for the treatment of diabetes.

Ivy Teh, M.B.A.

Ivy has over 10 years of experience in running and leading multi-country/regional projects for key healthcare accounts, especially in the medical device sector across Asia Pacific and in emerging market such as Latin America. Ivy currently functions as the Managing Director of Clearstate Pte. Ltd.

Ivy was previously the Head of Synovate’s Business Consulting unit in Singapore and Malaysia, leading a team of 20 consultants. Ivy’s healthcare consulting expertise has enabled her to build key accounts and strong working relationships with local hospitals, health authorities as well as international brand names.

Ivy has published numerous white papers and articles on current healthcare topics, on biotech industry growth in emerging markets, as well as on other medtech opportunities in Asia Pacific.

She has successfully completed over 300 engagements in growth strategies, competitive benchmarking analysis, and trending analysis for Fortune 500 clients as well as government agencies.

Ivy holds an MBA from the York University (Canada), specializing in international business and non-for-profit marketing. She also holds an honors bachelor Medical Physics degree from McMaster University (Canada).

Adam Chee, M.Sc.

Adam has several years of professional working experience in the IT industry before venturing into Health IT in 2002 where he specialized in Medical Imaging Informatics and related technologies before moving onto the wider spectrum of Healthcare Informatics.

An active contributing member to several international Technology and Health IT initiatives, Adam runs binaryHealthCare – a social enterprise advocating Health IT as an enabler for “better patient care at lower cost” by raising the standards of health informatics through training, continuing education and providing a vendor neutral community for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

A recognized subject matter expert on the area of Health IT, Adam is an experienced conference speaker, adjunct faculty with institutes of higher learning (on health informatics) and serves on several committees (including Ambassador for CHIU – the Committee of Healthcare Informatics User for the Asia Region).

Adam is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare and holds the honor of being the first inductee of the Microsoft Certified Professional Hall of Fame International.

An avid learner, Adam’s qualifications includes a Master of Science (Computing) from the University of Portsmouth, UK as well as the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) from HIMSS.
